I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor located in downtown Redmond, Washington. I offer individual counseling to adolescents, young adults and adults.
I believe that opportunities for growth are available throughout our lives. I help people who are ready to begin the process of healing, while gaining insight and understanding along the way. At other times, it is just as important to have someone to talk to about what is going on in our lives, someone to listen and offer validation or to offer another perspective. I have gained many years of experience working with people at various stages in their lives and believe in the power to grow, change and discover a way of being in the world that feels "right".
It is important to find a counselor that provides an environment that feels safe and respectful. In doing so, I engage people with an interactive and supportive approach, respecting the needs, values and culture of each person.
I received my Master of Arts in Psychology in 1991 from Seattle University. Prior to graduate school, I earned two Bachelor of Arts degrees, one in Psychology from Seattle University and the other in Speech Communication from the University of Washington. My career has included working in community mental health centers and human resources departments for small and large corporations. Following the birth of my daughter in 2001, I chose to be a stay-at-home mom until opening my private practice in Redmond in 2005.
Counseling is tailored to each person’s needs, issues and goals. My clinical focus is Client-Centered with a focus on a combination of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Psychodynamic approaches.
Areas of counseling include:
Initial Appointment/Intake (60 minutes): $150
Individual Session (60 minutes): $120
In addition to the listed insurance plans, my services are often covered under other insurance policies as an out-of-network benefit. As a courtesy to my clients, claims are submitted to all insurance companies.
I am an in-network provider for the following insurance plans:
Goldie is a Registered Therapy Dog and is with me in my office. She is a rescue that I adopted in 2011 when she was just nine months old. She is calm and friendly, always ready to meet someone new. Her “job” that she took upon herself, is to greet people in the waiting room and lead them into my office. She is a sweetheart and always makes everyone smile!
